I also have a time following the Forums in Seniorlearn.  Seems the changed the way from what way was done in Seniornet.  I seem to always come up starting in 2008. Have to track to catch up to March 2017

ExBrit. Now what part of UK you from.  I am from Greater Manchester as they call it now.  Hometown was Rochdale, Lancashire.

I hang out in Seniorandfriends along with a few people from the Old Seniornet. Still pop into Seniorlean to see of any of the old crowd show up.

Jeanne.....the forums here are the exact same software as Seniors and Friends.  You see 2008 because that's when some of these discussions started.  To get to the current ones, go to the last numbers showing at the bottom ....the page numbers.  Once you've "caught up," you'll be taken to the first new one in whatever discussion you've read or posted in....just like at S&F.

Here, for  example, at the lower left, you'll see

Pages: 1 ... 10 11 [12]   Go Up

That means the most recent posts have now gotten to p. 12.  IF you start on p. 1, you'll see the beginning posts from way back.

HEPESKIN
Dear Jane: I have just changed from using an ipad to using a fully fledged computer (Dell Inspiron). I used to use a fully fledged computer ages ago but changed to laptops and ipads and they just drove me crazy.
Now I have entered a response for Ginny's class today on my new desk top
and cannot find it anywhere! I am wondering it I just did not save it - I have not used  a regular computer for over 3 years. I would appreciate it if you would give me some guidance on how to find my text. Sorry to bother you with this. Heather

The easiest way to find your posts is to go to
PROFILE above the blue bar and click there.  Then to Summary and on the left side bar is Show Posts. Click there and you'll see your posts.

Yours shows as this one and the one before was

Good Afternoon, Jane. I have just registered as Poppaea for the 2017 class but I don't seem to be able to find the page where I would make an entry when the classes open. I entered Class 105 ( I was in 103 with Agrippina and Flavia this prior year) but I am worried I made a mistake - perhaps I should have entered 104?

No, 105 is correct for you.  Those classes aren't open yet as we don't have them all set up.  I'll send you a link to the class in early Sept.

I have checked all my settings and am blocking nothing. I am still signing in every time. I am at a loss.

I don't know what to tell you, Karen.  I've only had that happen when, as I said, some program...an anti-spyware and anti-malware program has done a scan of my system and has deleted my cookies.  To my knowledge, nothing here has changed, and the cookie that holds your login info is on your computer.  [That's why if someone uses someone else's computer, that someone has to login because the login cookie is not on that device. ]  I'll check with Marcie and see if she has an idea about what's going on.

Thank you Jane. I think you have answered my question. I am using my iPad not my computer. Next week when I get home I will sign in with my computer. In the meantime I will keep signing in

Something still isn't right, Karen.  I'm here on my IPAD all the time, and don't have to sign in....unless I logout for some reason when I leave here.

I tried to answer Jane's two "homework" questions, but could not find the "reply" button.  This I found in another way but it was not in the orientation room where she said to find it.  Please help.

Heather...you only need the password to get into SeniorLearn.  You've obviously done that since you can post.

Did you get my email with the link to your class?

Otherwise, you can go out to the SL main index

http://seniorlearn.org/forum/index.php

and scroll down until you see your Latin class.

GHOP....you need to use your Latin bookmark and go to the Index for that folder...

http://seniorlearn.org/forum/index.php?board=240.0

You'll see the Orientation where you post the assignments given in the assignments folder.

Below that you will see the various other folders...and one is Pronunciation...

THAT's what you click on there and you'll see Ginny's explanations about how Latin is pronounced and then on down that page are links for you to click to hear the mp3 files she's made by pronouncing those words for you to hear.

Email me at  janeiowaLatin@gmail.com  , if you can't find the above.

I'm having trouble getting around the site. When I click on the email address to send in a homework assignment, I think I get to the proper page, but then there is no way to get out without turning off my computer. I'm sure this isn't the way to do it, but I can't find any place to exit or to return to the page I was visiting before.

GHOP....Just use your email contacts to get Ginny's email to send her the homework.

Check in the Orientation I gave on how to use the breadcrumbs and/or the Jump to to get back and forth between areas.

The heading in the link below explains and shows where to find the "breadcrumbs"....links back up the hierarchy of folders and the second link...near the bottom shows again two ways to get around...the breadcrumbs that are top and bottom on any page and the jump to option.

Jane,
Last year when Ella died, you helped Robby join SL.  Two weeks ago, an old member, told Robby that she was glad to see him back.  Then she said had not been here because of health and other
problems over the past year.
I answered her and explained the changes we were making due to a shortage of DLs and suggested that she come join us in the Library and see what we were getting ready to read and that I hoped she would join us.
I don't remember her name now.  Do we have a site for Returning Members?

Annie....the easiest way to find your own posts is to click on your own name and in your Profile...on the left hand side is a Show Posts and if you click on that, you'll see all the posts you've made from latest on back.

I think this is your post that you're asking about:
