Hi, Jenell...
That's what I used in your Latin area to make the top three discussions....Orientation, Classroom, and Assignments appear at the top of the lists in your Latin 101 folder.

The Orientation will be moved down once the Orientation is over.

The purpose is to make the Classroom and Assignments areas stand out for the Latin 101 student.

I hope you posted this in your Orientation Room, too, so the other Latin students can see it.  That's what our Orientation is all about...answering these kinds of questions.  ;)

Jane,

Can I change my display name?   Help says I can but alas, I can not seem to do it.  I would like it to be more Roman, so unless it is a duplicate, I would like it to be "Flavia", If there is another, Flavia48 would be fine.

Let me try.  You'll still login with xine48.

Ok....look above...your name now displays as Flavia!  Be sure to tell Ginny and your classmates who you are....and remember this doesn't change how you login.

Flavia...I can change your login name, but the site then changes your password and sends that to you, and then you have to go in and change it to whatever works for you.  As long as you know how to login....and you obviously do since you're here, then it's all good.

Good morning, Jane.

Firefox's latest incarnation has added a new feature that flags websites that are not secure (https//). This one and Seniors and Friends are both being flagged. I can still log-on, however; it is just a warning. Thought you'd like to know in case you get questions.

Thanks, Frybabe!  We'll ask Marcie about that.  She's our tech guru.   ;D

Hello everyone. I'm new to SLnet. Hoping to enroll in the 2018 Latin class....as advised i'm trying to navigate the site in general. Would some explain the "Bulletin Board" process, and the summer chat group. Thanks

Welcome, Pucci43.

The general discussion boards are always open. You can post anytime or just "read the mail". It is not like a live chat group where everyone is there at the same time with instantaneous responses. http://seniorlearn.org/forum/index.php

Post in whatever discussion interests you, add your two cents to something someone has already posted, or just post about whatever you are reading or have read that you find interesting. A lot of us get ideas for future reading from what other members post. There is usually a discussion going about a specific book which we read and discuss over a month or so. The rest are for general discussions about books in a particular genre. The Library is a general all round discussion and a good place to get acquainted. `

Jane will answer any questions about Latin classes, but in the meantime may I suggest looking in on the Classics Forum which is open to all. From time to time someone will find an interesting article to post or post some of their pix from trips. Most is Roman history oriented, but not all.

My new kitten has decide to park his butt on the computer, so I'd better quit typing while I am ahead. He hasn't mastered typing yet.  ;D
