Welcome to our newest brain teaser: BLANKO

The rules are simple:

The Challenger poses and indicates either a title or the name of an author, but not both.

The Contestants guess the title or author and post their answer; if they can, the solve the entire title.   They can also suggest another letter to fill in one of the blanks.

At  the end of the day if the puzzle is not solved,
the Challenger then must add only  one of the suggested letters the contestants have suggested, everywhere it appears.

The winner becomes the new challenger.

Ex:

Title of Book: three words, a prize winning novel:

   ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ T    __ ___   ___ ___ ___ ___

What is it?

Good Luck !!

Oh my - what to do?  A, E, Y, M, F...

I'm forgetting the rules - am I supposed to give you one letter a day - or all of the letters guessed?

Until the rules are cleared, I'll tell you three things...

No, there is no Aaaaak

Yes, to all of the letters guessed.  Is that fair?

Oh, and I'll tell you where the first letter guessed is placed..

-  A  -  -  -  - ' S

JoanP, the rules have gotten quite flexible.  I think it boils down to this: you have to give one letter, but can give more at your discretion.  It's good to give more, keeps the game lively, but 5 would be overdoing it.

An A helps to separate the men from the boys, or the boys from the girls.

Yep, you got it, Pedln.  You know me - free advertising.  This book is one of five or six nominated for next month's Book Club Online - we'll be voting in a few days....though there's still time to nominate a title if you wish.  The title is a link to a review...

In My Father's House
 by Miranda Seymour

Hope you had a happy day!

Quite a bunch to choose from -  In my Father's House,  In My Mother's House,  On My Father's Grave, and on and on and on.  Actually, I was thinking of the same title by Carrie Ten Boom, not Miranda Seymour.  But advertise away, a good idea.

Give me a day to see what can be found.

Not exactly advertising.  Non-fiction, maybe a memoir?  New, I think.

“___  ___  ___  ___  N  ___        ___  ___  ___  ___  ___  ___”

I don't know why the quotation marks are there.  Must be publisher's privilege.

Well, the lone N is already there, but here's the G you asked for.
I guess this could be advertising, in a long round about way.

OK, OK - but you practically gave it away, Pedln!

MAKING BABIES - same author who wrote "The Gathering" which is one of the 6 contenders for the next Book Club Online discussion in June.  There's a three way tie in there now - I hope you get to vote  before Tuesday.  Maybe we'll have to have a run off...

WINNER!!! WINNER!!! WINNER!!!

Congratulations, JoanP.

It looks like you've got a good ballot to choose from for June.  I'm not voting for the June selection.  It looks like I'll be home for all of 10 days, or so, in June.  First the east coast, and then the west.  Haven't made Seattle reservations yet, but they'll be near the end of the month.

A busy busy June, Pedln!  Your new auto will take you west to east?

I won... so my prize is to put up another - hoping to stump the panel...
This is fiction - relatively new - published in the last ten years or so -

Two "O" s, Pedln.  They should help.   This novel was later adapted for a film...
