Welcome to our newest brain teaser: BLANKO

The rules are simple:

The Challenger poses and indicates either a title or the name of an author, but not both.

The Contestants guess the title or author and post their answer; if they can, the solve the entire title.   They can also suggest another letter to fill in one of the blanks.

At  the end of the day if the puzzle is not solved,
the Challenger then must add only  one of the suggested letters the contestants have suggested, everywhere it appears.

The winner becomes the new challenger.

Ex:

Title of Book: three words, a prize winning novel:

   ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ T    __ ___   ___ ___ ___ ___

What is it?

Good Luck !!

You don't want to read a synopsis--there is a puzzle and twists and turns.  Avoid spoilers.  I liked the book, though it's rather strange.  It's Danish, takes place mostly in Copenhagen, narrated by a half Eskimo half Danish woman.

Sense of Snow is an interesting mysatery: I found it a little confusing and hard to follow.

How about an A?

It was the movie I remembered.  Never read Costain's book, but see that it was the best seller in the US in 1953...

Ok, here's a new one, fiction by an author you've all heard of:

  -  -  ' S     -  -  -  S

Winner!  Winner!  Winner!

 Congratulations, Pat!
I really didn't think you'd get this so quickly.  Do you think it was because I put the  first letter S in the wrong place?

I'd been thinking about suggesting this book to my 10 year old granddaughter - she loved Little Women.  I'm not sure she read an unabridged edition, though.  If she read an abridged version, she might be overwhelmed with an unabridged Jo's Boys.  And turned off forever...

It was the apostrophe.  I was thinking there aren't too many 2 letter names, and it just popped into my head.

Here's another.  Fiction, classic.

It was Jane's request for an "A" - and suddenly I saw the title!

Here's a new one - Fiction - an oldie, though not ancient...

AHA!  WINNER!

How did you get that so quickly, Fry?  I was about to give Jane the A and expected someone to jump on it then, but you got it without the A!

I've been thinking about Ayn Rand, remembering how I devoured her books back in the 60's - wondering if I'd find them so engrossing as I once did if I read them now -  Fountainhead, Atlas Shrugged.  Did you get caught up in her books?
