BLANKO

Welcome to our newest brain teaser

The rules are simple:

The Challenger posts  either a title or the name of an author, not both.  One letter is supplied.  More information may be given, but isn't required.

Example:

Title of Book: three words, a prize winning novel:

   ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ T    __ ___   ___ ___ ___ ___

What is it?

The Contestants guess--the title (or author) if they can, or a letter.  One guess between appearances of the Challenger for each contestant.

At  the end of the day, or more often if the Challenger wants, the Challenger will add one or more of the letters the Contestants have suggested, everywhere it appears.  (Note that the original supplied letter might also appear elsewhere.)

The winner becomes the new Challenger.

Good Luck !!

Winner, PatH is a Winner

Pat, you may have heard of Brian Fagan. He wrote a prodigious number of books about archeology. I believe one of his recent books was a best seller, The Great Warming: Climate Change and the Rise and Fall of Civilizations . I thought I had bought it, but I cannot find it right now. Maybe I just thought about buying it. http://www.brianfagan.com/

It's in Uzbekistan, dates from the 7th century BC, and was an important part of trade routes, including the Silk Road.  It figures in kids' adventure stories.

Fagan looks interesting.  I might start with his book on the Little Ice Age, of interest to me because it gave the death blow to the Norse settlements in Greenland.

It is obviously not The Time Traveler's Wife, but I can't get that one out of my head.

You got it, Fry!  Have you read it?  I thought it might have possibilities for a group discussion.  All of the reviews seem positive...

No, I haven't read it. The paperback comes out on the 21st. It is a little less expensive than the Kindle version. I noticed a lot of that lately.

This one is somewhat regional.  History. I am leaving out the subtitle.
