BLANKO

Welcome to our newest brain teaser

The rules are simple:

The Challenger posts  either a title or the name of an author, not both.  One letter is supplied.  More information may be given, but isn't required.

Example:

Title of Book: three words, a prize winning novel:

   ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ T    __ ___   ___ ___ ___ ___

What is it?

The Contestants guess--the title (or author) if they can, or a letter.  One guess between appearances of the Challenger for each contestant.

At  the end of the day, or more often if the Challenger wants, the Challenger will add one or more of the letters the Contestants have suggested, everywhere it appears.  (Note that the original supplied letter might also appear elsewhere.)

The winner becomes the new Challenger.

Good Luck !!

WINNERS           WINNERS        WINNERS

I think Fry and JoanP should share,  since she must have gotten it to guess a B.

Technically, it's EncyclopAedia Britannica. The variant spelling I was talking about. That's the spelling on my old one, and I stuck to it. They've probably modernized it by now.

BINGO!

Do read it, Frybabe, it's amusing.  Then read Connie Willis' To Say Nothing of the Dog, one of her time-traveling historian books, but also a take-off on Three Men.  It's light-hearted and funny.

I loved "Three Men in a boat". What is it with the English and rivers? I'm reading a mystery now abour the "longboats", long, narrow boats with a foot of draft built for England's canals, and the longboat people who spend their lives on them.

Another E please?
