BLANKO

Welcome to our newest brain teaser

The rules are simple:

The Challenger posts  either a title or the name of an author, not both.  One letter is supplied.  More information may be given, but isn't required.

Example:

Title of Book: three words, a prize winning novel:

   ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ T    __ ___   ___ ___ ___ ___

What is it?

The Contestants guess--the title (or author) if they can, or a letter.  One guess between appearances of the Challenger for each contestant.

At  the end of the day, or more often if the Challenger wants, the Challenger will add one or more of the letters the Contestants have suggested, everywhere it appears.  (Note that the original supplied letter might also appear elsewhere.)

The winner becomes the new Challenger.

Good Luck !!

Up early and out for a family gathering in New Jersey this afternoon - near the shore, but not on the coast. Don't know what to expect...storm-damage wise.
We'll be home tomorrow afternoon. I'm telling you all this because I see the title, but won't be able to start a new puzzle until tomorrow.

I'm seeing The Hound of the Baskervilles...

Oh, good grief.  I should have seen that--the book is a favorite of mine--but I didn't.

Good for you, JoanP.  Hope your gathering is nice.

Good for you, JoanP. We'll await patiently for your new puzzle. Enjoy your family.

Where on the Jersey shore do you go? As kids, Pat and I went every year to Beach Haven on Long beach Island. They showed it on TV during Sandy with the streets full of water.

We were quite near Long Branch, JoanK - Red Bank area, rode through The shore towns - mold seems to be the biggest problem right now...piles of appliances, furniture, cabinets, insulation in front of nearly every home. Where are they taking all of this contaminated debris?  Mold and housing for those who lost everything will be a major problem for a long time to come.
My brother spoke of the tent cities for those evacuated from schools - but when we rode through the grounds of Monmouth race track, last week "home" to thousands - they were gone.  Where to?  No longer front page news...we forget those in New York/New Jersey who have lost everything...with winter coming on.  The saddest are those who are simply camping in the moldy homes with no heat or electricity...

Oops - forgot why I came in this morning...This is fiction - haven't read it yet.  Am considering because of the author.  Really interested if you have - but you must guess the title first! :D
