BLANKO
Welcome to our newest brain teaser
The rules are simple:
The Challenger posts either a title or the name of an author, not both. One letter is supplied. More information may be given, but isn't required.
Example:
Title of Book: three words, a prize winning novel:
___ ___ ___ ___ ___ T __ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___
What is it?
The Contestants guess--the title (or author) if they can, or a letter. One guess between appearances of the Challenger for each contestant.
At the end of the day, or more often if the Challenger wants, the Challenger will add one or more of the letters the Contestants have suggested, everywhere it appears. (Note that the
original
supplied letter might also appear elsewhere.)
The winner becomes the new Challenger.
Good Luck !!

OK, I think I've got it now... Wasn't sure if it was HOW or WHY
THE TRUE SAINT NICHOLAS
WHY HE MATTERS TO CHRISTMAS.
An interesting title...I think I'd like to read it...who is the author, Fry?

JoanP is the WINNER!
Joan, it probably won't surprise you to learn that William Bennett wrote it.

He has a radio show on the conservative radio station where my son works. Walking by, my son asked if it was the same guy. It is.
My son (a liberal) is the techie who puts his show on the air every day.

I have always held William Bennett in high esteem...would love to know what he wrote of the importance of St. Nicholas.
Here's a new one for you - perhaps the last BLANKO of 2012...

Fry
If you don't see it by next year, I'll give you those Ls.

...a Lee Child book:
ONE SHOT
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One_Shot_%28novel%29
One Shot is the ninth book in the Jack Reacher series written by Lee Child. The book title is based on "One shot, one kill," the military sniper's creed.

It's interesting that such a short title still isn't any easier.

I don't really feel that I won, since I only guessed the last letter. Although a mystery fanatic, I have never read Lee Child (not sure why). Do you recommend him?
I'll try to come up with something tomorrow.
