I have had trouble tracking down, with the little time I spent on it, the true nature of the spirit horse in the Native American tradition. What I mostly get on Googling is organizations such as therapy horses and rescue outfits, and as stated before music, calendars and the like. Somewhere in there, there has to be an explanation of the origins of the spirit horse rather than a commercialized version. I am assuming that not all horses are spirit horses. Are they real horses that are "soul mates" or a spirit vision of a horse that provides help and guidance in times of need?
