Welcome to our newest brain teaser: BLANKO
The rules are simple:
The Challenger poses and indicates either a title or the name of an author, but not both.
The Contestants guess the title or author and post their answer; if they can, the solve the entire title. They can also suggest another letter to fill in one of the blanks.
At the end of the day if the puzzle is not solved,
the Challenger then must add only one of the suggested letters the contestants have suggested, everywhere it appears.
The winner becomes the new challenger.
Ex:
Title of Book: three words, a prize winning novel:
___ ___ ___ ___ ___ T __ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___
What is it?
Good Luck !!
Might as well as for an H --yes?
That was an impressive catch back there, Jane.

-WINNER!! WINNER!!
Khaled Hosseini's newest book:
Book Description
Release date: May 21, 2013
An unforgettable novel about finding a lost piece of yourself in someone else.
Khaled Hosseini, the #1 New York Times–bestselling author of The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns, has written a new novel about how we love, how we take care of one another, and how the choices we make resonate through generations. In this tale revolving around not just parents and children but brothers and sisters, cousins and caretakers, Hosseini explores the many ways in which families nurture, wound, betray, honor, and sacrifice for one another; and how often we are surprised by the actions of those closest to us, at the times that matter most. Following its characters and the ramifications of their lives and choices and loves around the globe—from Kabul to Paris to San Francisco to the Greek island of Tinos—the story expands gradually outward, becoming more emotionally complex and powerful with each turning page.

Mom surprised me when she picked up this book and actually enjoyed it. Non-Fiction - History. The full title is way long so you are getting the short version.

Just saw your question, Pedln. Yes, to both. It seems to me there was a children's(?) game by this name too.

The first letter is smaller than the others. Is that significant?

Winner Winner Winner
Yes!!!!! The full title, and you can see why I didn't include the whole thing, is:
Blind Man's Bluff: The Untold Story of American Submarine Espionage by Sherry Sontag and Christopher Drew, with Annette Lawrence Drew.
Mom took a liking to this book which was not her usual kind of reading material. She liked it so much she also read and liked The Code Book: The Evolution of Secrecy from Mary, Queen of Scots to Quantum Cryptography (another, even bigger mouthful of a title).

Good job,
pedln
. I was totally stumped. I even made a list of letters
not
guessed for inspiration. That gave me some ideas, none of them close. That was a good quiz,

Like minds, PatH. I did the same thing with remaining letters. Was sure Fry had put some symbols in there. It was the children's game clue that got me to the right place. Back in a bit with another puzzle.
That was a great choice, Frybabe. You sure had us going there.
