Welcome to our newest brain teaser: BLANKO

The rules are simple:

The Challenger poses and indicates either a title or the name of an author, but not both.

The Contestants guess the title or author and post their answer; if they can, the solve the entire title.   They can also suggest another letter to fill in one of the blanks.

At  the end of the day if the puzzle is not solved,
the Challenger then must add only  one of the suggested letters the contestants have suggested, everywhere it appears.

The winner becomes the new challenger.

Ex:

Title of Book: three words, a prize winning novel:

   ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ T    __ ___   ___ ___ ___ ___

What is it?

Good Luck !!

It's on my list, Pat. The author and I have at least two things in common. We both have the same first name and we were both were born in DC.

Foreign. Novel based on author's experiences.

TAH, DAH! We have a WINNER!!!!

Yes, I ordered that after we read The Netsuke, but haven't read it yet. I got a little mixed up, though. The Silent Cry isn't based on experiences with a mentally challenged son. There are two, A Personal Matter and A Healing Family , neither of which are novels. The Silent Cry does include a mentally handicapped child, but the story is does not revolve around him. It is more about the relationship of two brothers, and in part, the fight to save a local culture and economy.

A good one, Fry -

Here's another - somewhat older than The Silent Cry though... and a leetle harder to guess. :D  But you will recognize it when you see it!
