Welcome to our newest brain teaser: BLANKO

The rules are simple:

The Challenger poses and indicates either a title or the name of an author, but not both.

The Contestants guess the title or author and post their answer; if they can, the solve the entire title.   They can also suggest another letter to fill in one of the blanks.

At  the end of the day if the puzzle is not solved,
the Challenger then must add only  one of the suggested letters the contestants have suggested, everywhere it appears.

The winner becomes the new challenger.

Ex:

Title of Book: three words, a prize winning novel:

   ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ T    __ ___   ___ ___ ___ ___

What is it?

Good Luck !!

WINNER  WINNER  WINNER

The whole title: "The Clockwork Universe: Isaac Newton, the Royal Society, and the Birth of the Modern World" by Edward Dolnick. I have a sample on my kindle waiting for me

Good for you, Marj. Did my Newton clue help? He was known for thinking the world worked and was understandable like a clock: a mechanical thing. I have little puppets of Newton and Einstein on my fridge, and I like to make up pretend conversations between them on the nature of the universe.(But they would both be horrified at modern physics).

Over to you.

Maybe a "clew":  Published in 1895 to widespread acclaim, making the author an instant celebrity at the age of 24.
