Good work, Pat.

Marj: the Edgar Allen Poe award (the Edgar) is given every year to the best mystery of the year. Historically, it always went to men (that has changed somewhat now) so Sisters in Crime offer another award, "the Agatha" (guess who it's named for?) for the best mystery by a woman.

It looks like Agincourt to me, though I don't know of a fiction book based on it.

WINNER!!           WINNER!!            WINNER!

Yes!  PatH is the winner!   And it is AGINCOURT, a good historical fiction book by Bernard Cornwell re Henry V's battle with the French in 1415 for a bit of French real estate which Henry was certain belonged to Britain -- as you no doubt know about.  I keep thinking I'll read Shakespeare's Henry V, but I'll probably never get around to it.  But Cornwell's book was really interesting.

I'll check out Cornwell's book.  It was quite a battle, as you know better than I.  The British were hugely outnumbered--5000 against 30,000-100,000, and won mostly because of their superb archery.

There's an excellent 1989 movie of the Shakespeare play, directed by Kenneth Branagh, who also plays Henry.  The rousing speech Henry gives his troops before the battle is used by actors as a show-off piece.
