Welcome to our newest brain teaser: BLANKO

The rules are simple:

The Challenger poses and indicates either a title or the name of an author, but not both.

The Contestants guess the title or author and post their answer; if they can, the solve the entire title.   They can also suggest another letter to fill in one of the blanks.

At  the end of the day if the puzzle is not solved,
the Challenger then must add only  one of the suggested letters the contestants have suggested, everywhere it appears.

The winner becomes the new challenger.

Ex:

Title of Book: three words, a prize winning novel:

   ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ T    __ ___   ___ ___ ___ ___

What is it?

Good Luck !!

All, right, I see where a C would work...is there more than one?

Yes, there is more than one C.
That should pretty much give away the subject if not the title.

T H E     __ __ A C __    C O __ N T:

__ __ O R __,    R E __ O __ __T I O N,

__ E T R A __ A __,    A N __    T H E

R E A __     C O __ N T    O __

__ O N T E     C R I S T O

used: A, C, E, I, H, N, O, R, S, T, W

Bravo, Jane.  And Frybabe, what a choice!!  Unbelievable.  You and JoanP  need awards for most tricky or unusual titles.

Jane takes the prize.
[/color]

An Amazon Best Book in September, this book won the 2103 Pulitzer for Biography.
Here are the NYT  and NPR reviews:

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/09/16/books/review/the-black-count-by-tom-reiss.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0

http://www.npr.org/2012/09/19/161023945/the-black-count-cuts-a-fascinating-figure

Both seem a little less than inspiring. Still, I am determined to read it - eventually.
