Hi!

My most memorable vacation was my second trip to Russia.  We took a river boat cruise from St. Petersburg down to Moscow.  When we arrived at Moscow, I got sick and was disagnosed with appendiicitis.  Had an appendectomy in a Moscow hospital.  Shouldn't complain, I guess, as the doctor there probably saved my life and they did not charge me anything, but you never want to be in a Russian Hospital.  Not the cleanest for sure, everyone smoked including the doctors, food was awful, bathrooms looked like those on skid row.  Great trip up till then, tho', but glad to get home.

What a good memory and a bad memory!  My gosh, were you afraid you might get an infection while in the hospital???
What I want to know is if your trip down to Moscow by boat was pleasant and beautiful.  What river did you travel??  Are there mountains in that area?  Could you see the vacation homes that the Russian people build?  Did you stop along the way, in historical places??  Does Russia have scenic parks on their rivers??
