Welcome to our newest brain teaser: BLANKO

The rules are simple:

The Challenger poses and indicates either a title or the name of an author, but not both.

The Contestants guess the title or author and post their answer; if they can, the solve the entire title.   They can also suggest another letter to fill in one of the blanks.

At  the end of the day if the puzzle is not solved,
the Challenger then must add only  one of the suggested letters the contestants have suggested, everywhere it appears.

The winner becomes the new challenger.

Ex:

Title of Book: three words, a prize winning novel:

   ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ T    __ ___   ___ ___ ___ ___

What is it?

Good Luck !!

I'm torn between the possibilities. W?

B?

We listen to the local station which ties in with a meterologist in Cedar Rapids and they give you the location and possible time/locations the tornado cells are moving toward.  For a time they feared 70-80 mph winds, but we didn't get those.

We were there maybe 40 minutes before the cells had blown past us.

Bestseller, We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves. I hear this is very good. Has anyone read this? Is it discussion material?

JoanP, have you read The Master of Hestviken, which was Undset's favorite?

What have you done to me, Pat!  I meant I read the Lavransdatter books...now I'm on hold for   The Master of Hestviken, which I need to pick up in a week.  Wouldn't be a problem, except for  these short stories we're discussing here, then ther's  Karen J Fowler 's new one, which I've just started...and Kent Haruf's Benediction both which I've got to return to the library in two weeks.  There will be no renewing those last two, in such demand.

I'm turning into a speed reading bookworm!

Maybe you should hold off on the Undset, Joan.  My copy is almost a thousand pages.  It's been so long since I read The Master of Hestviken that I don't remember much about it, but I think maybe I liked Kristin Lavransdatter better.

1000+ pages...Thanks for the warning, Pat!  I can always cancel the The Master of Hestviken hold at the Library...In fact will do that right now!  Phew!  That was a close  one!  Good to know that the Library has it on the shelf though!
