Loving Frank by Nancy Horan - May 1st
happens in the early 1900's when two people fall in love at the wrong time but can't say no to themselves and their feelings. Come read about this blazing affair that sounds more like the a book that happened in 1980's and later. Two rather brilliant folks--one a rising architect, Frank Lloyd Wright, age 40,(already very popular) and a younger lady, Mamah Cheney, who felt very strongly about her freedom to discover her talents. Was she a suffragette? or just self absorbed? Hmmm, well, come discover for yourself.

On June 1 we're lucky enough to have an Author Event taking place on SeniorLearn ! The prize winning author Carol Goodman will participate online in the June 1 discussion of her "The Night Villa".
Goodman is admirably suited to write a book about archaeology and ancient history, as she is a former Latin teacher and has been celebrated for her contributions to the field of Classics with her books, including The Lake of Dead Languages. In addition she was a personal friend of the man who invented the imaging technique which they now use to examine papyri from the Villa of the Papyri at Hercunaneum. So this is our chance to learn something and to talk online to an author.

If you like to combine mystery with learning something new about history, please join us, June 1. We'd naturally like a nice turn out for this author who was very impressed with our Books group when we met her in NYC last September.

From one of our readers: I started Night Villa by Carol Goodman. I told myself I would read just the first chapter before other duties. When I looked up, 2 hours had passed without me even noticing.--Norma Lemke. Please come and sign in of your interest. We'll keep the light on for you, ~ Andrea and Ginny.
