Welcome to our newest brain teaser: BLANKO
The rules are simple:
The Challenger poses and indicates either a title or the name of an author, but not both.
The Contestants guess the title or author and post their answer; if they can, the solve the entire title. They can also suggest another letter to fill in one of the blanks.
At the end of the day if the puzzle is not solved,
the Challenger then must add only one of the suggested letters the contestants have suggested, everywhere it appears.
The winner becomes the new challenger.
Ex:
Title of Book: three words, a prize winning novel:
___ ___ ___ ___ ___ T __ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___
What is it?
Good Luck !!

WINNER!
And you aren't even a twin,
Frybabe
!
Have you heard of Ann Hood's latest? I read two different reviews of
The Obituary Writer
- in Goodreads, and the Washington Post. Made it sound good- well-written and quite interesting. The idea of such a writer, after gathering the factual information on the deceased, then asking "now, tell me about your loved one...." More to it than that... I'm going to look into it.

I actually didn't know this is a novel. I thought it was an inspirational.

Yes, it does...on my MAYBE pile.
Sorry I didn't get in here sooner - was glued to TV much of yesterday when not trying to care for son's dogs, along with our own - and squeezing in Friday's chores. Here's a new one - a book most of us have probably read...and one I am reading now, because I don't remember having read it!

I guess I'll start us off with the Es.
I got tired of watching everyone standing around, so I turned the TV off for about an half an hour. Of course, that is when they finally caught the guy.

Same here, Fry! Didn't you think it was odd when they said he was probably hiding out during the daylight...and would wait till dark to make his move. And then as soon as it was dark, they told the people of Watertown they no longer had to remain inside behind locked doors? I don't want to think what might have happened if the suspect hadn't been wounded when discovered in his yard by the boat owner!
Ok, here come the E's - and the T's for you, Jane...

Yes, once I started thinking of U, I thought maybe Robinson Crusoe was it so took out the U and went for the title. I had read Moonstone far enough to see the repeated citing of that title.

I'm reading it now, Pat. It 's very long. I 'd forgotten that. To tell the truth, I'm not certain I ever read it, though I am familiar with the shipwreck. The opening chapters deal with "Bob" Crusoe and his father 's opposition to his desire to become a seaman...a life for which he is particularly unsuited. Not at all what I expected...but surprisingly good!
Jane, for no reason, can you use an F?
