Thanks, but that's okay. My next question would have been that of Frybabe's, ie about more E's

The Castle of Otranto? Never heard of it. Crushed by a giant helmet? Huh? Billed as the first "Gothic" novel.

I've just discovered that Walpole was counted as one of a number who doubted that Richard III killed the princes in the tower. I'd be interested in reading that book, if I can find it.

Congrats, Frybabe.  I've not read it.  But it's available in our Southern California libraries.  (261 pp.) However, the summary mentions it has "supernatural terror," so I will bypass it.  Fantasy and paranormal stuff are usually a big yawn for me.

   WINNER WINNER WINNER

Good for you, Frybabe, getting it when you hadn't heard of it.  The plot sounds perfectly dreadful, doesn't it?  Might make a good opera, though.

Thanks, bluebird, I'll have a look at it.  I suspect the language will be pretty tough going, though.

Well, since all the vowels have been used except U, the second letter of the last word is probably a U.  Which makes it likely the word is hunters, -- so:

THE SEA HUNTERS

Clive Cussler is known for his sea adventures. What I didn't know is that he was awarded a Doctor of Letters by the Board of Governors of the Maritime College at SUNY in lieu of doing a PhD thesis. His interest and knowledge of shipwrecks and underwater archaeology is extensive. He founded the National Underwater Marine Agency which, among many others, found the Hunley and its victim the Housatonic. You can read about NUMA and Cussler's bio here  http://www.numa.net/

A second book, The Sea Hunters II: Diving the World's Seas for Famous Shipwrecks, was published in 2002.

Off topic:

I was curious and went back to the beginning of the Blanco puzzles.  There then were quite a few who worked on them, but guess they must have gradually gotten tired of it.  Anyway, I found some interesting books that I'd not read, one of which was made into a puzzle by Frybabe -- Is Paris Burning? (nonfiction) by Larry Collins and Dominique Lapierre which looks very interesting.  I put it on my Library's hold list.  Another one I want to read was also submitted by Frybabe, Ghosts of Vesuvius by Charles Pellegrino.

N?

Marj, Is Paris Burning was also turned into an Oscar nominated movie. I really liked the book. My copy of The Ghosts of Vesuvius is still in my TBR pile. But check with Ginny, she is our Pompeii expert. I think she is the one that said the book was disappointing, which is why, I suppose, it is still TBR for me.
