Welcome to our newest brain teaser: BLANKO

The rules are simple:

The Challenger poses and indicates either a title or the name of an author, but not both.

The Contestants guess the title or author and post their answer; if they can, the solve the entire title.   They can also suggest another letter to fill in one of the blanks.

At  the end of the day if the puzzle is not solved,
the Challenger then must add only  one of the suggested letters the contestants have suggested, everywhere it appears.

The winner becomes the new challenger.

Ex:

Title of Book: three words, a prize winning novel:

   ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ T    __ ___   ___ ___ ___ ___

What is it?

Good Luck !!

And I'm in the LA area, but didn't see your post until now. Boo hoo. I probably wouldn't have seen anything anyway: the city lights are so strong here, we never see more than one or two stars at night.

AND THE WINNER IS......DRUM ROLL PLEASE.....PATH

Best known for her book, Their Eyes Were Watching God, Huston was an author, folklorist and anthropologist. The book itself was not well received when it was first published in 1937, but when it was republished in 1978 (?), it became an instant hit.

I had heard of the book Their Eyes Were Watching God, but had not heard of the author.
Being an atheist I usually pass on a book with God in the title (unless it's by Christopher Hitchens, LOL).

I haven't read the book, but I think it's main thrust isn't religious, but about a black woman's difficult path to a relationship that suits her.  It's a shame Hurston died before the book came to be appreciated.  Hurston herself was a prominent in the between the wars intellectual life in Harlem.
