MARJ: thanks for the hummingbird article: I hadn't seen it, and it's fascinating! I'll share it in the Wildlife-Birds discussion on Seniors and Friends. Imagine the delicacy required to put a band on that tiny leg. It gives me shivers.

I like birds, Bluebird, but they are not a big interest of mine.

I do find them interesting and sometimes funny. A group of my friends and I were rushing to our cars from a restaurant. A bird swooped down and let go its poop on one of the women we like but consider somewhat of a ding-a-ling. Apparently the bird thought so too.

And the other day I was fascinated to watch a blackbird dig into a trash container and come up with a discarded MacDonald's sack. The bird tore open the sack and devoured the leftovers in it. Blackbirds are so smart.

Yes, bluebird, I do lots of different kinds of puzzles. I like birds, too. Once JoanK took me to a bird-banding station, and they showed me the hummingbird bands. There were half a dozen of them strung on the shaft of a tiny safety pin.
