Welcome to our newest brain teaser: BLANKO

The rules are simple:

The Challenger poses and indicates either a title or the name of an author, but not both.


The Contestants guess the title or author and post their answer; if they can, the solve the entire title.   They can also suggest another letter to fill in one of the blanks.

At  the end of the day if the puzzle is not solved,
the Challenger then must add only  one of the suggested letters the contestants have suggested, everywhere it appears.

The winner becomes the new challenger.

PatH, who is the author? Is the story good?

The author is Don Marquis.  The book is a collection of newspaper columns Marquis wrote about the imagined life of Archy the cockroach and his friend Mehitabel the alley cat.  Archy had been a poet in a previous life, and he sneaks into the newspaper office at night and writes on a typewriter by jumping on the keys.  He can't work the shift key, so everything he writes is in lower case.  He talks about his friend mehitabel, a free spirit, writes little poems, etc.  it's whimsical and mildly humorous. I don't know what I'd think of it now, I read it a long time ago.
