Welcome to our newest brain teaser: BLANKO

The rules are simple:

The Challenger posts  either a title or the name of an author, but not both.

Ex:

Title of Book: three words, a prize winning novel:

   ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ T    __ ___   ___ ___ ___ ___

What is it?

The Contestants guess the title or author (if it's a challenge on an author's name)  and post their answer.  If they can, the solve the entire answer. If not, they  can also suggest one of the title words or  a letter to fill in one of the blanks. One guess per "day" (between appearances of the Challenger) for each contestant.

At  the end of the day if the puzzle is not solved, the Challenger will then add only  one of the suggested letters the Contestants have suggested, everywhere it appears.

The winner becomes the new Challenger.

Good Luck !!

Mmm...what to do?  Pedln was first asking for a "G" - If I were to give you the A's, Gum, Pedln would be more likely to "win" -

Oh well - let's see who gets it first - the timing is right.

What are you saying - that you are going to recuse yourselves, you two - and let Gum guess every letter of the alphabet until she gets it? :D

Seriously, do I put up a THIRD title - will that make you happy?

Winner Winner Winner...

Yes!  Frybabe to the rescue!  The title is Dancing at the Rascal Fair - voted on to be the August Book Club Online discussion. - Between this book and Old Filth, Man in the Wooden Hat and Novel Bookstore, I haven't had time to read anything else.  Oh - and The Weird Sisters...

We just put out Dancing at the Rascal Fair today - and I must say I'm finding it engrossing - very different from anything I've read in a long time - historical fiction - a saga that starts when the two friends are boys in Scotland and emigrate to Montana...
Please drop in and post if you think you might find it interesting...

This is relatively new fiction.  I’m reading it now, a serendipitous find at the library.  I don’t know anyone else who has read or is reading it.  I’d never heard of the author although he has written eleven novels.  It’s a beautiful book.  Wonderful.  But sad.

Winner!!  Winner!!  Winner!!

Good job, Deems2.  Have you read this book?

By Joseph Monninger, a professor at the U. of New Hampshire.  I'd never heard of  him before, but I love this book.  It's about real people, maybe you'd call them everyday people -- I don't know.  Definitely people with big problems, who have to make big decisions.  But they are all so likeable, without being dippy.  You care about them.
